KELLY, Esther Mary (nee McCarthy)
passed over peacefully on February 13, 2016 at her home in Scarborough surrounded by family, at the age of 92.

Wife of Peter T. Kelly for 62 years; mother of Mary Theresa, Patty, Peter (Cathie), Danny (Maureen) and Stephen. Sister to Pat, Myra, Catherine, Theresa, Philomena, Gordon, Neil, Loretta; grandmother to Leah, Taryn, Brenna and Deirdre; great-grandmother to Liu; aunt to many nieces and nephews. Esther was born in Blackville, NB on January 27, 1924, the coldest day of that year. She grew up in Cabbagetown, Toronto during the Great Depression and started a teaching career at age 17. In the 1970s, Esther and Peter lived and worked in Tanzania for CIDA. In later years, Esther followed her heart's desire, travelling to Europe, the Middle East and South America. Esther loved literature, political debate and family gatherings. We will truly miss her wry humour, thrifty nature and sense of moral justice.


SOKOLOFF, Dorothy Joan
Peacefully passed away in her sleep on Monday, October 26, 2015. Dorothy beloved wife of the late Julius. Loving mother of David, Raymond, Victoria, Lorne Van Dusen and Norman and Richard Sokoloff. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Visitation was at the PAUL O'CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. on Thursday, October 29, 2015. The funeral service was held in our chapel the following Friday morning. Interment Highland Memory Gardens

DOBBINS, James (Jim) McClymont - July 8, 1927 - October 13, 2015
Jim died peacefully in hospital, leaving behind his beloved wife Norma and his loving children: Barbara Buchak, Jimmy Dobbin and Nancy and Phil Walton. His two grandchildren Jenna Buchak and PJ Walton meant the world to Jim. Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd., M1M 1N5, 416-267-4656. Mr. Dobbin's life was celebrated at the same location at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 17th.

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Providence Healthcare at the age of 76.
Beloved wife of the late Fred. Loving mother of Mark (Gloria) and the late Ellen. Cherished grandmother of Jamie (Rina), Daniel (Jen) and great- grandmother of Mikala, Austin and Jana. Lily is survived by mom Nellie and sister Carol (Roy). She will be sadly missed by nieces: Carol-Ann, Rhonda, Andrea and Lily's best friend Helen. Special thanks to all Lily's caregivers at Providence for their compassionate care. A Memorial Service was held in the Chapel at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd. (416-267-4656), on Thursday, October 8th at 1 p.m.

LONG, Ronald Clyde - December 17, 1940 - September 27, 2015
It is with great sadness we announce that Ron passed away on September 27, 2015 at the age of 74. Ron will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Yvonne as well as his beloved children Kevin and Kendra (Nicolo). He will also be mourned by his brothers Jim (Gertie) and Wayne (Glenna). The Funeral Service took place at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 115 St. Andrews Rd. in Scarborough on Saturday, October 3rd. Ron was laid to rest at Pine Hills Cemetery.

CAPON, Arlene, “Sandra”
Passed away at Brampton Civic Hospital on Monday, September 22, 2015.
Sandra Capon (nee Hamilton), in her 78th year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Ronald Capon. Loving mother of five sons: Wayne ( Joyce ), Gregory (Karen ), Bradley ( Sherry ), Shawn (Nancy ) and Jason. Sadly Missed by 10 grandchildren. Survived by brother, Howard Hamilton. Predeceased by one sister, Muriel.


WHITE, David Joseph - 1930 - 2014

Loved beyond measure, our compassionate and loving husband, dad and gramps, the “other half” of a remarkable 57 year partnership with the love of his life and his best friend Doreen (nee Mason), has passed away.

A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, 776 Brimley Rd., on February 1st at 1:00 p.m. (Visitation from noon - 1:00 p.m. and reception to follow at the church).

For those of you who knew David, and of his many contributions to the North Bendale community, the impact of this loss will be greatly felt. David served as President of our community association from 1970 - 1971. If you know of others in the community that also knew David, you may wish to pass this information on.



We are very sad to report that Ed Gebert passed away the morning of October 18, 2013 at the age of 83. (Former V.P. Finance of Weston Bakeries Limited and V.P. Property Management of Weston Foods). Loving husband to Freda for 59 years. Beloved father to sons Jeffrey (Michelle Bolhuis) and Gregory (Pascale- Claude Dufour). Proud Grandpa to Alyssa (Joel Drewry) and David Gebert. Survived by brothers and sisters: Joseph (Hazel Gebert) of Langley, B.C., Mary (Gordon Henry) of Regina, Saskatchewan, Betty (Keith Bird), Surrey, B.C., Philip (Sharron Gebert) Ottawa, ON., and James (Bernie Gebert), Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Brother and Sisters-in-law Mary (Paul Grebinsky) Victoria, B.C., and Don (Gloria Clandinin), Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Numerous nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service was held in the Ogden Funeral Chapel on Monday October 21.

For those of you who knew Ed, and of his many contributions to the North Bendale community, the impact of this loss will be greatly felt. Ed’s most recent contribution to our community over many years was to audit both the North Bendale Community Association’s and the North Bendale Tennis Club’s financial books.

FREE, Judith Ellen "Judy"
Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Guildwood on February 7, 2013 in her 74th year. Beloved wife of Ted. Loving mother of Eric, Peter and his wife Lisa, and Michael. Cherished Grandma of Katelyn.


RENNIE, Valerie Dawn (nee Jones)
The family of Val Rennie is deeply saddened at her passing on December 20, 2012. Taken at the age of 82 after a mercifully short illness. Val was the beloved wife of Walter Rennie for 57 wonderful years. Loving mother of Douglas (Edith), Laurence (Rose) and Fraser (predeceased). Val leaves behind ten much loved grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by her cousin Joy MCIntosh who was like a sister to her. Val was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi (Gamma Theta Master) and a volunteer for many charities.

ROURKE , Cameron Alfred
Peacefully passed at Toronto General Hospital on Thursday, February 9, 2012 with his family by his side. Loving husband of Avril. Dear father of Cameron (Joanne), Jodi Ramsden (John) and Tanis Mandzak (Tim). Proud grandfather of Shane, Meghan, Dylan, Tommy, Shaelin and Kiera. Survived by his sister Trudy Walker, sisters-in-law Mary Zickefoose (Chuck), Jean McLeod (Gary) and brother- in-law Keith McLaughlin (Susan). Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, family and friends. A Memorial Service was held at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd., Ajax, on Wednesday, February 15, 2012


JONES, Margaret Scott (Cadenhead Templeton) - 1937 - 2010
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret on February 12, 2011. Beloved wife of Bill. Loving mother of Blake (Sue), Derek (Joanne) and Michelle (Barry). Adored Nana of Nicole, Carly, Danny, Danielle, Logan and Arden. Sister of Sadie Chambers and the late Jack and James Cadenhead and many nieces and nephews. Margaret will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all family and friends.


Suddenly on Christmas Day 2010. Wolf, beloved husband of Jacqueline. Dear dad of Colleen and Nadine (Brent Hughes). Loved opa of Declan and Crawford. Wolf will be lovingly remembered by his many relatives and friends.

PETRIE, Norma- 1936 - 2010
Passed away peacefully on November 10, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Norma will be lovingly missed by Sparkle, her relatives, nieces, nephews, and her many neighbours and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend Robert. The Petries were the original owners of their house on Faraday Drive.
